Project Description
For its new board room, Peabody Coal wanted an environment that embodied the global nature of its operations, while also being highly supportive of the business that would be conducted there. ISC delivered both. The new board room includes an etched glass wall featuring a world map and a custom board table made from three exotic hardwoods: quartered etimoe wood in the center, quartered sapele on the border and mahogany hardwood on the edges. Located on the 9th floor of Peabody’s world headquarters, the room also houses a huge projection screen that had to be hoisted by crane before entering the room through a window. The media wall is designed on tracks so that it can be opened or closed, depending on whether the projection screen is in use.
